Solar Farm Forecast

Forecast of the solar power for control areas and regions worldwide

The Solar Power Forecast provides worldwide 1/4-hourly forecast data of solar power by means of plant locations in individually configurable regions for up to 14 days in advance.

Your benefits

  • Timely identification of grid congestions, enhanced planning security and management of balancing groups
  • Ideal baseline information for renewable energy trading
  • EWC forecasts help in fine-tuning trading systems
  • High forecast accuracy of solar power by using precise forecast models and integration of satellite products
  • Qualtiy assured forecast data due to reference stations
  • Optional: Simulated calculation of a potential feed-in

Our standard data processing

The forecast is interpolated for each location on the basis of EWC's MOS-driven forecast system. A Cler Sky Model and the production via the global irradiation forecasts complement the forecast. Losses due to clouds and snow are individually considered and adapted to the altitude of the solar plant loaction. On request, relative power data can be included in and displayed as chart.

Updates
  • Hourly updates for the next 12 hours
  • Up to four updats per day for the next 14 days
  • 15-minute resolution

EWC uses the following database

The Solar Power Forecast is based on weather forecast data of EWC's MOS system (Model Output Statistics), data of the solar angle, operator databases (location parameters, inclination, orientation and productivity) and measurements of solar plants. The forecast model for Germany additionally incorporates power generation data from Germany-wide located solar plants.
