Detailed analysis for the plausibility of weather damage

EWC Weather Analysis is assessed by qualified meteorologists. It describes the general weather situation within a requested time period as well as the specific weather situation at the loss location. Based on this analysis, a clear and qualified statement about the plausibility of weather damage can be made.

The Weather Analysis assesses weather damage in Europe. Analysis to direct lightning and overvoltage damage for Germany and Austria are supplemented by a lightning map and spreadsheet with exact data to time, intensity, coordinates and distance to the lightning discharge at the loss location.

EWC uses the following data

• Data from more than 1,000 national weather stations in Germany and more than 2,500 in Europe
• For the analysis, the data of weather stations representative for the loss location is used
• Data of LINET, the lightning detection system of nowcast GmbH
• Data of 16 radar stations in Germany
• Database of extreme weather events, earthquakes, etc.
• Geocoding of the loss location accurate to the house number
• Additional consideration of local, geographical, hydrological and grid-connected factors
